Ashley Ross, graduate student in the Mitchell Lab, was recently awarded a Diversity Research Supplement by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to support her work, “Intermittent hypoxia-accelerated recovery from phrenic nerve injury.” Ashley’s work may indicate new applications for therapeutic repetitive acute intermittent hypoxia, accelerating recovery from phrenic and other nerve injuries. She will collaborate with Dr. Gordon Mitchell as well as postdoctoral fellow Dr. Raphael Perim and T32 trainee Mia Kelly.

This research supplement is part of the NHLBI’s commitment to developing research careers and improving participation for individuals from groups demonstrated to have low representation in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical and social sciences. Congratulations, Ashley!
