The Control of Breathing and Airway Defense (CoBAD) Seminar Series featured Dr. José López-Barneo on Friday, June 16 at 3:00pm ET. Dr. López-Barneo studies the mechanisms of acute oxygen sensing in mammals, specifically by the carotid body and other peripheral chemoreceptor organs, as well as cellular adaptations to hypoxia. His seminar is entitled: Unraveling the Molecular Mechanism of Oxygen Regulation of Breathing by Arterial Chemoreceptors.
