CoBAD: Lane & Zholudeva

The Control of Breathing and Airway Defense (CoBAD) Seminar Series featured Drs. Michael Lane, Professor at Drexel University, & Lana Zholudeva, Research Scientist at Gladstone Institutes, on Friday, June 9 at 3:00pm ET. Dr. Lane’s research explores the consequences of cervical spinal cord injury, the potential for spontaneous improvement in function (plasticity), and aims to develop treatments to improve recovery. Dr. Zholudeva engineers human spinal interneurons from pluripotent stem cells and tests their therapeutic efficacy for promoting repair and recovery after injury and neurogenerative disease. Their seminar is entitled: Improving Recovery After Cervical Spinal Cord Injury.

You can learn more about their work in their book Spinal Interneurons: Plasticity after Spinal Cord Injury.

NOTE: This session was recorded and was available on our CoBAD YouTube playlist for a limited time.
