The Control of Breathing and Airway Defense (CoBAD) Seminar Series featured Drs. Bob Banzett, Associate Professor at Harvard University, & Erica Heinrich, Assistant Professor at University of California, Riverside, on Friday, June 23 at 3:00pm ET. Dr. Banzett runs the Dyspnea Lab, which has made seminal discoveries in the underlying physiology of dyspnea and key advancements in the objective measurement of this symptom. The Heinrich Lab investigates physiological responses to hypoxia and high altitude, with a special focus on how inflammatory pathways and immune cell phenotypes change during acute and chronic high-altitude exposure. Their seminar is entitled: Dyspnea: Mechanisms, Clinical Impacts, and Future Tools for Monitoring and Treatment.
