The Breathing Research and Therapeutics Center hosted the SCI Workshop on December 1, 2023. The event was held at the Austin Cary Forest Campus with over 60 attendees. The workshop included a faculty and early career blitz from 24 faculty members & trainees, covering the breadth of spinal cord injury research happening across the center. Clinical speakers, Drs. Chris Robinson and Geneva Tonuzi, from UF & Brooks Rehabilitation respectively, and lived-experience SCI Research Consultant, Francois Fried, participated in a Lunch & Learn session with the group. The day concluded with a brainstorming session for our “Big Ideas” Proposal which aims to strengthen ties within our SCI community, both between UF, UFHealth JAX, Brooks Rehabilitation, and beyond.
