BREATHE T32 Alum, Michela Mir, Appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences

Michela Mir

BREATHE T32 alum, Michela J. Mir, PhD CCC-SLP, has been newly appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences. Her research aims to advance rehabilitation of speech, swallowing and cough disorders. She collaborates with basic and clinical science researchers to deepen understanding of these disorders and improve novel interventions. Along with being a BREATHE T32 alum, she is a graduate of the UF College of Public Health and Health Profession’s Rehabilitation Science doctoral program and a clinically trained speech-language pathologist who worked with patients for several years before her PhD. This year she will teach Speech Motor Control Disorders in the Master of Communication Sciences and Disorders program and co-teach the Doctoral Seminar in the RSD program. Congratulations, Dr. Mir!
