BREATHE Steering Committee member, Dr. Erica Dale, received funding for her project Effects of acute cannabis smoke exposure on respiration after cervical spinal cord injury in rats, from the Consortium for Medical Marijuana Clinical Outcomes Research Grants Program. This funding will allow her lab to start a small study looking at the effects of cannabis smoke or vape on the spinal neural networks controlling breathing and how exposure changes breathing function after upper cervical spinal cord injury. Congratulations, Dr. Dale!
