Congratulations, Don! Dr. Bolser’s RO1 grant explores cough rhythmogenesis and uses cough suppressant drugs and hypocapnea as tools to interrogate the system. The project examines how a population of tonically active expiratory neurons controls other neurons in the dorsal medulla that are critical for the cough rhythm.
