This round of the Control of Breathing and Airway Defense (CoBAD) Seminar Series drew to a close on Friday, September 10th at 3:00 pm ET. The final session featured Natasha Kumar, PhD & Simon McMullan, PhD. Dr. Kumar’s lab investigates cellular and physiological mechanisms used by autonomic systems (cardiovascular, respiratory and glucoregulatory) and how they adapt to changing environmental conditions. Dr. McMullan’s research focuses on the organization of brain circuits that control blood pressure regulation and how those interact with other brain circuit activity. Their seminar was entitled: “Easy as ABC: neural circuits that coordinate airway and circulation control with breathing.”
