The Breathing Research and Therapeutics Center hosted it’s 5th Retreat on June 3, 2022 after a two-year COVID hiatus. The event was held at the Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention and included an overview of the Center from Director Gordon Mitchell, research poster presentations from 33 trainees, and short presentations from 11 faculty members. In his “state of the center” remarks, Dr. Mitchell highlighted that the Center has more than 43 actively funded faculty, who boasted an average of $1.13M per member in extramural research funding in 2021.
Dr. Krista Vandenborne, Chair of the Physical Therapy Department, said a few words to attendees about the growth and success of our center and its members. To end the night, Dr. Mitchell presented Dr. Erica Levitt, BREATHE Steering Committee member, with a parting gift as she embarks on a new journey with the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan. Congratulations, Dr. Levitt. We will miss you!
